Gibson still writes!
April 30, 2022;
Let’s put aside “Sprawl” and “Bridge” trilogies. I am not religious with the fact that Gibson has stopped writing cyberpunk. Ten years ago I read “Pattern Recognition”, enjoyed it a lot. Then I tried “Spook Country” - to that date, it was a disaster, the Russian translation was an absolute garbage, unreadable. So I bought the book again many years after, in English this time, did not regret it.
During occasional visits to the sci-fi section of book stores, I’ve noticed some new novels, often right on displays. But I never bothered to take a closer look. This week I finally got “The Peripheral”. Was published in 2014 - and has a recent sequel and some TV-show either in production or planned, curious. Apparently, Gibson returned to the genre.
