Links
Websites and projects I find useful.
Chemistry
- NIH Assay Guidance Manual - contains ample of information for small molecule drug discovery. The resource is focused on assay design, development and data evaluation strategies. It won’t substitute Copeland’s books, but has regular updates on crucial aspects biochemist should always keep in mind.
- Protein-Ligand Binding - funny online tool to calculate and visualize binding isotherms. It is very simple and often very useful! Unlike other tools, uses a proper quadratic binding equation.
- COPASI - simulation of biochemical networks. I use it for kinetic simulations and linked reactions. The interface is a little awkward, still did not figure out CLI version yet.
Software
- Fedora Linux - Linux distribution I like. Easy, bleeding edge and stable. I don’t use Linux a lot lately tho.
- Mullvad VPN - Swedish VPN provider. You can pay with cash, if that is important.
- KeeWeb - electron-based KeePass implementation.
A little on games
- OpenTTD - to feel like you are Dagny Taggart. I love trains, do you?
- fheroes2 - free HoMM2 gaming engine. Requires original HoMM2 files, buy the game from gog.com.
- devilutionX - runs first Diablo native even on FreeBSD. As usual, get the original game from gog.com.
Misc
- Project Gutenberg - collection of books in the public domain.
- Electronic Frontier Foundation and some privacy recommendations. I am not into tin foil caps, but this is important.
